SIX MONTH SMILES is a revolutionary new procedure in the world of orthodontics that focuses on the aesthetic aspects of straightening only the teeth that are visible when you smile. In an average time of just six months, Six Month Smiles can help you achieve that great smile you have always wanted in a fraction of the time of traditional braces and Invisalign, and at a fraction of the cost.

Looking your best during the Six Month Smile process!

Six Month Smiles utilises nearly invisible clear braces and tooth-colored  wires to gently straighten your teeth. The result is a more natural looking treatment option that will not attract the same unwanted attention that traditional braces do.

Dental professionals agree that braces offer the most effective and predictable method for straightening teeth and giving patients a healthy, beautiful smile.  Six Month Smiles is a modern twist on traditional orthodontics that provides adults with a common-sense, cosmetic solution to fit their lifestyle.

What makes Six Month Smiles so revolutionary?

  •     The average treatment time is only six months.
  •     Clear brackets, elastics, and tooth-colored wires ensure that the braces are barely visible.
  •     Custom-made patient tray kits ensure that appointments are quick and comfortable.
  •     Braces provide a more predictable, comprehensive, and conservative final result over aligner therapy and veneers.
  •     New materials allow for low forces and shorter treatment times, which increases the safety and hygiene during treatment.
  •     Six Month Smiles is far less expensive than other options for straightening teeth and achieving a beautiful smile.

Six Months Smiles can be used to successfully treat various orthodontics problems which can include:

  • Crowding - teeth are too close together
  • Spacing - gaps between teeth
  • Overbite - teeth overlap too much
  • Overjet - front teeth stick out
  • Underbite - lower teeth stick out
  • Crossbite - teeth bite on the wrong side of each other
  • Openbite - your teeth do not meet when you bite
  • Misplaced midline - centre lines of upper and lower teeth don't align

CONSULTATION During your initial consultation, we will discuss your primary concerns about your teeth and provide you with an overview of all the possible treatment options that are best suited to your individual circumstances. We will work together with you to develop an individualised treatment plan that will map out the process involved in the Six Month Smiles procedure, including details on the number of visits required and the fees involved.

RECORDS APPOINTMENT Before any orthodontic treatment can commence, we must first ensure that your teeth, gums, and bone are in a healthy state. The oral health assessment will include a dental assessment, periodontal assessment, and radiographs to ensure that your teeth are free of decay, and that your bone levels and gums are healthy. After we have determined that your oral health status is adequate for orthodontic treatment, we will take impressions of your teeth and a personalized treatment kit will be fabricated.

APPLIANCE PLACEMENT The appliance placement appointment will be scheduled approximately two weeks after your initial consultation and oral health assessment. We will place the braces on your teeth and provide you with an information package concerning all you need to know about caring for and managing your new braces.

ADJUSTMENT & HYGIENE APPOINTMENTS With the Six Month Smiles system, you will be required to attend adjustment appointments every 4 weeks to ensure that the treatment is progressing as planned. To maintain your oral health throughout the process of the treatment and to decrease your chance of developing cavities, decalcification, and gingivitis, we will schedule you in for a dental hygiene cleaning appointment every 3 months. During this appointment, the dental hygienist will remove any built up plaque and calculus from the hard to reach areas around your teeth and braces.

APPLIANCE REMOVAL & FINAL EVALUATION On your final appointment in the Six Month Smiles treatment, we will remove your braces and a permanent lingual retainer will be placed to prevent relapse. At this point in the treatment, we will work with you to fine tune your great new smile by addressing any remaining concerns that you have with your teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Six Month Smiles technique employs the latest technology and techniques in dentistry to move your teeth quickly and safely with clear adult braces. The key components of the treatment are the use of unique, clear braces and a primary focus of moving the teeth that show when you smile.

No! Six Month Smiles uses clear braces that are barely visible to gently straighten your teeth.

Six Month Smiles uses low force to move teeth gently. Many people think that the accelerated braces treatment means simply “tightening” regular braces to get the teeth moving, but that is not true. Six Month Smiles utilizes standard orthodontic mechanics, but with an emphasis on the cosmetic appearance of your teeth rather than the position of your bite.

There are no more risks of root damage or other issues than those associated with traditional orthodontics. Since the forces used with Six Month Smiles braces are lighter and teeth are seldom extracted, there are actually even fewer risks involved with Six Month Smiles.

Yes, as with any teeth-straightening treatment a retainer is necessary to maintain the straighter position of your teeth. If you don’t want to wear a removable retainer, you can have a bonded retainer placed. There are a variety of options that you can choose from according to your personal preference and situation.

There is no catch. If you are an adult (15 years and older) with crooked or spaced teeth and you're not looking for a major alteration to your bite, this could be the solution for you! Most adults ARE candidates for Six Month Smiles.
